Massimo Pizzeria: An Authentic Italian Experience in Tagbilaran

I love pizza! I mean, I can totally relate with this meme:

So when I heard that the Bohol Bloggers Collective received an invitation to the soft opening of a new Italian restaurant, I immediately, maybe just slightly fasted to lessen the guilt because I know I will eat a lot of pizza.
Your vocabulary up on the wall
Massimo Pizzeria is just around the corner where I live. It used to be home to Dong Juan and has now been transformed into a bright and Instagram-friendly place (this is important because millennial, you know you agree). I loved the homey feel of Dong Juan but the new interiors don’t disappoint as well.
Massimo serves pizza and pasta (and some more) and I already knew what I would get for pasta.

Being a basil and pesto lover, I got so excited to see a pesto pasta (linguine al pesto genovese) in Massimo Pizzeria Ristorante Italiano's menu. It was cooked with low salt which is good health-wise. Unfortunately, I am use to everything salty (forgive my plebeian palate). But that's what condiments are for. Just a little salt added and I had a happy tummy!

Pesto or Pistacchio?
To my surprise though, I loved Randy’s Spaghetti in Crema di Pistacchio more than the pesto. Served with real pistachios with just the right creaminess, I didn’t need to add more seasoning as it was perfect for my taste. I may have to re-think about my pasta choices now.

About to go in

For the pizza though, I think we all agreed on the four cheese pizza or the 4 Formaggi as everyone’s favourite.

Drool...

If you wanna know where the name came from, Massimo is the restaurant's Chef Consultant. We went there on their soft opening but the service was quick, the staff could teach you a lesson or two in the Italian cuisine and even say the words correctly. They have Wi-Fi so don’t worry about those Instagram stories.

Can't hide the excitement!
