Dine in Bohol: Dear Manok, It’s not just about your Grilled Chicken.

The old Sarmiento House in M. Parras corner G. Visarra St., Tagbilaran City has finally found its new tenant but unlike the other tenants this one is bringing something closer to home, the experience of dining with family over timeless Filipino food and their specialty, Mindanawon style of grilled chicken.

Grilled is one filipino staple food that never gets out of style wither it be pork, chicken or fish surely we loved the tasted of marinated meat seared in charcoal to a perfect burnt enough to roast the outside but tender and juicy from the inside. That’s why lechon will always be part of the Filipino cuisine and so is “Inasal”.

Dear Manok which started its first branch in Iligan and Cagayan de Oro just recently expanded its operations here in the Visayas with Bohol as one of their first expansion area. With 21 years in the food business the Boholanos, local and foreign tourist alike are assured of quality and delicious food yet in affordable prices. Aside from the grilled chicken their menu offers a variety of dishes with choices from seafood to pork. You can even customize some of the menus according to your dietary restrictions, their chef would be glad to accommodate your request. Our personal favorite is the Chicken chicharon which is a perfect appetizer, not so oily, not salty and you can never stop yourself from having more. They also have Fish Tinola with generous servings of fish meat and spices. For dessert, we can’t choose between the buko halo-halo which is served in coconut shell and a mouthful of coconut meat, the mais con yelo, and the leche flan. Again, the best part is, their prices are affordable.

Another trademark Dear Manok is making is the dining experience they offer to the customers. With a homey ambience of an ancestral house it will always makes you feel closer to your own dining table at home, where families and friends gather, talked how your day went through, or the experience of first love and heartaches over a warm grilled chicken, soup of fish tinola or the chicken chicharon that you can’t stop popping and the unlimited rice because you won’t worry if you get fat because that moment was perfect, it was perfect because you are with the company of people you loved most and the food that reminds you of them.

So what are you waiting for? #WhenInBohol never missed a chance to be the first of your friends to dined and check out this place wither you’re a solo backpacker or may it be your #squadgoals. J
