Who does not like good food? Of course no one. But when good food comes with a price then it's better be worthy.

The new dining bistro in Tagbilaran is the next big thing that might hit the upper scale dining experience. SMOQUE which is owned and manage by friends Krissel Sabandal-Alturas and Chef Paeng Ongchiong will surely give you the best dining experience a 5 star hotel kitchen can offer.

Chef Paeng who have been working in some of the top notched hotels and resorts in the Country decided to make it big on his own. In partnership with his long time friends Krissel and her husband, they started to venture into dining business. As the chef and  the one managing the bistro, he always makes sure that the food and the dining experience is at par among the best restaurants and resorts in Panglao and any other places in the country. The menu is a changing delectable dishes everyday depending on the fresh produce from the market, so they always advice the customers to call in if their favorite dish are available. They also encourage customers to pre-order food that they would like the chef to prepare upon their visit making the experience more personal and intimate.

Krissel's family who hails from Davao wants to bring in the Davaoeño modern style of architecture in Bohol. So with a properly conceptualized structure (an eco building) and interior design (industrial approach match with machuka floor tiles and a wood ceramic tiles on the other side, a yin yang of design),  the experience dining in SMOQUE is not only about the food but also with the place itself. Personally, Krissel picks the pieces the bistro should go with. She has been running pastry and cake business in Davao successfully that made her decided to introduce her sweets to the Boholano market by being in charge if the dessert selection. 





Together, just like the restaurants name, SMOQUE which goes with Smoked and Barbecue food, Krissel and Chef Paeng runs the place with enthusiasm and delight. Just like the food when serve in every table, snappers will surely can't wait to take a photo of every serving. While the hungry appetite, would never fail to be nourished and be satisfied of the delicious food. Because again, if good food has a price, this place takes your penny's worth up and satisfied. No need to go too far to Panglao just to experience exquisite dining. When in Bohol, a visit to this up scale bistro is a must because like their wall says, Eat Good Food, and I say, it should be "always".

Try the Smoque Salad, the consistency of the taste is fabulous! 

So I recommend to pay a visit at SMOQUE and try the Smoque Salad, Seafood Madness and the Ube Halaya Cheesecake as my personal favorite.
